Summer Must Haves — May 26, 2021

Summer Must Haves

Since I’m on vacation, I finally have time to catch up on reading all my favorite magazines.  Here is a synopsis of their best advice on beauty products.

  1. Best exfoliant is a summer favorite—SkinMedica AHA/BHA.  It’s mild enough to use at the beach.
  2. The consensus favorite for antioxidants to neutralize sun damage is still Skinceutical CE Ferulic.
  3. DEJ eye cream can give you visible changes in as little as four weeks with its amazing peptides to combat dark circles and fine lines.
  4. Best serum and worth every dime is TNS Advanced by SkinMedica, although I still prefer their sister product TNS Essential Serum.
  5. If your oily skin doesn’t like sunscreen, try Ella UV Clear.

All of these are available at ArkLaTex Dermatology.  For those of you traveling with limited space for packing like me, a great over the counter cleanser is Cetaphil, and it can be bought in small travel size.

Have fun on vacation with all your favorite products!

Take These 5 Products on Your Next Trip

Sunbathing

Summer’s just around the corner. Don’t let your skincare routine take a vacation. Here are my top 5 products to take on a trip:

1. Sunscreen – use it every day
2. Antioxidant serum – something rich in Vitamin C. My favorite is TNS essential serum.
3. Moisturizer for both face and body.
4. Bottled water – don’t let yourself get dehydrated.
5. Packaged hand wipes – plans, trains and autos are huge infection sources.

Use these and have fun!

Protecting Your Skin While Flying — January 15, 2019

Protecting Your Skin While Flying

Planning air travel soon? Here are some tips for protecting your skin while flying:

man person people train

  1. Use a good moisturizer every 4 hours. Epiderma Repair Cream is a good choice.

  2. Flying leads to increased levels of harmful free radicals on skin. Creams or oils containing antioxidants are a must. Try Revision 30% vitamin C cream.

  3. Alcohol, internal or external, is dehydrating. Humidity is very low in airplanes. So instead, drink lots of water.

  4. Carry a supply of baby wipes for gently cleaning hands and face.

Happy flying!
