Avoid a Sunburned Face this Spring — May 2, 2021

Avoid a Sunburned Face this Spring

Some of the worst sunburns I see are in the early Spring. The weather is cool, so it’s easier to stay out longer and not feel uncomfortable until it’s too late.

So, here are my favorite facial sunscreens.

  1. Skinceuticals physical fusion UV defense—It even comes tinted and is very light.
  2. Elta UV clear—great for acne prone skin
  3. ZO sunscreen plus primer—a zinc oxide titanium dioxide combo for sensitive skin
  4. Colorescience Sunforgettable— a powdered sunscreen that can be applied over makeup.

All of these are available at ArkLaTex Dermatology.

Let’s Spring Clean Your Skin — March 21, 2021

Let’s Spring Clean Your Skin

March is spring cleaning month, and the best way to start is with the ZO Getting Skin Ready kit.

Always start with a cleanser. Hydrating cleanser is good for normal to dry skin, but the exfoliating cleanser is best for oily skin.

Next, tone your skin with complexion renewal pads or oil control pads. This allows any of your beauty products to absorb better into the epidermis.

Finally, don’t forget to exfoliate. The ZO exfoliating polish tops off your cleansing regimen by removing dead cells.

Take advantage of a free cosmetic consultation to adapt this regimen to your skin.

Sunscreen Pearls — April 13, 2017

Sunscreen Pearls

Spring is here! With it, comes warm weather and increased ultraviolet radiation. If you are not already doing so, begin your DAILY sunscreen regimen now, because every time you are in the car, you are in the sun.

 Best Sunscreens

  1. Colorescience powdered sunscreen – can be reapplied without removing makeup.

  1. SkinCeuticals Tinted Sunscreen – very light weight – can be used instead of makeup.

  1. Obagi Sun Shield – For those who don’t like tinted products.

Pro tip! Wear at least SPF 30!
