Helping Hands

Everyone is into facial rejuvenation, but hands are a dead giveaway for age!

Here are 5 helpful tips for youthful hands:

1) Fraxel Dual laser for those of us with lots of age spots and textural changes

2)Clear and Brilliant Laser for less severe brown spots

3) Dermal fillers such as Radiesse to plump and add volume

4) Silkpeel for exfoliating and freshening

5)And, of course, sunscreen!

Winter Skincare Tips — January 9, 2017

Winter Skincare Tips

1) Use an antioxidant serum before your morning sunscreen.  A good bargain is Vitamin C Lotion 30% by Revision (109$).

 2) A light winter peel–lactic acid or salicylic acid–can rid you of dry, dull skin.  Add a hyaluronic acid moisturizer to really smooth your skin.  Good products:  Hydrating Serum by Revision ($65) or HA5 by SkinMedica ($178 but worth it).

3) Continue daily sunscreen–SPF 30 or greater.

4)Don’t stop your nightly Retin A, but consider a lower strength for winter.

5)For hand protection get CeraVe healing balm.

Finding Your Perfect Skin Cream —

Finding Your Perfect Skin Cream

Cooler, less humid weather is here.  Your Retin A is making your face peel. Your skin is getting chapped when you run.  What to do? Here’s a checklist of great products.

1)     Lux by Obagi is great for nighttime use on the face, neck and hands.  It enriches and calms the skin. Use it after your Retin A. Good skin care for your face

2)     TNS Recover Complex – made by Skin Medica – is used post peel and post laser.  This product repairs dry, damaged skin.

3)     Hydrating B5 gel by Skin Ceuticals contains hyaluronic acid and softens fine dry lines.

4)     Don’t forget your body! Switch from moisturizing lotion to creams.  They provide a better skin barrier and should be used all over your body daily.

5)     Lastly, sometimes more expensive is not always better.  Protect your lips and eyelids with Vaseline at night.  (Go lightly on eyelids, please).
